Winter tyres, more accurately called “cold weather” tyres;
Feature a snowflake symbol on the side, and are made from a softer compound.
That means they’re still soft enough to provide the grip you need in temperatures below 7oC.
They also have a different tread pattern, with fine grooves or “sipes” cut into each tread block that bite into the snow better.
Not only do winter tyres reduce stopping distances in snow and ice, but also in wet weather below 7oC.
What’s more, they help with cornering performance, enabling you to turn the car in circumstances where you might otherwise skid straight on.

What our customers think
“100% Recommended great service and great prices”
“I cannot recommend these guys highly enough. Having been told by another garage that I absolutely needed a new Cat to get my car through the emissions section of MOT, I took it to MSC. They found they only had to change a gasket which meant spending a fraction of the cost just before Christmas. They have restored my faith in human nature! Thank you sooooooo much.”
“Thanks for my MOT today guys. It failed due to a problem with the exhaust and a side light. The exhaust was still under guarantee by another garage. When that was rectified, MSC redid the emissions test. It passed! To top it all, they very Gentlemanly replaced the side light *FOR FREE*. I left with a new MOT and a big smile.”
